THC, demurrage, and detention — put the days on the PI
All-in that hides dest THC is not all-in. Origin THC, dest THC, free days, and who pays overtime belong on the commercial paper.
Origin vs dest
FOB Nansha: origin THC is usually in the seller’s quote. Dest THC at Jebel Ali or Rotterdam is the buyer’s unless CIF was priced with a dest-forwarder sheet attached. Ask for that sheet as a PDF, not a voice note.
Demurrage and detention
Demurrage is the terminal clock. Detention is the box off-dock. Write free days (for example 7/7 or 14/14) and the weekday the clock starts. Lagos and some West Africa terminals run a different clock than Rotterdam. This is a note, not your booking.
Labelled freight ads
Freight desks may advertise on this column and on logistics ads. The ad must say advertising. A rate without dest THC, without free days, and without a validity date is noise.
