FOB, CIF, and DDP for containers — dest world or dest China
The unit is a container. FOB and CIF are the working pair. DDP only if someone on the dest side can actually clear and VAT.
FOB at a named Chinese load port
Name Nansha, Shekou, Yantian, Ningbo, or Qingdao — not “China port”. Origin THC, bill of lading, and on-board date sit with the seller’s forwarder. Ocean freight and dest charges sit with the buyer. Video and FRI still happen before the balance against the BL copy.
CIF to a named dest
CIF Jebel Ali, Rotterdam, Lagos, Los Angeles — or Shanghai / Ningbo / Qingdao / Shekou when the lane runs into China. Insurance is ICC(A) quoted separately unless the PI says otherwise. Dest THC, demurrage, and detention are not “included” because someone typed all-in in a messenger.
DDP is not a slogan
Delivered duty paid means a licensed dest broker, VAT number, and a party who will pay duty. This site does not pretend to be that broker. If you cannot name them, stay on CIF.
Can dest be a Chinese port?
Yes. That is a different lane: overseas origin into Shanghai, Ningbo, Qingdao, or Shekou. The buyer or their import agent is the named consignee, not this platform. HS and CCC/CIQ still apply.
